The tantan is the largest of the hand drum family in Brazilian music, and I always enjoyed playing it like a piano, with the left hand on the low end and the right hand with a ring on it for the high snap. Here’ s a short improvisation, exploring some grooves… Enjoy!

Thank you so much, Jovino. I love the atmosphere you create with each day. Your sense of theater is not missed. Let me share with you the words to the hymn written for a children’s choir that was performed for the United Nations. You probably already know it.
Words by Jill Jackson, music by sky Miller
“Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be.
With God our creator, we are family.
Let us walk with each other in perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me; let this be the moment now.
With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow:
To take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally!
Let there be peace on Earth and let it begin with me.“
And that is what you are doing!
