A Brazilian Paradise in 1975

Ilha Grande

Hello, my friends,

Back in 1975 I discovered a paradise located south of Rio de Janeiro - Ilha Grande (Big Island), on the beautiful Costa Verde (Green Coast). I returned there several times, but on the first time I made these back and white photos, which remained archived for decades, until I scanned the negatives and used as a soundtrack Alegre Menina, a composition by Dori Caymmi that in my mind translated the caiçara culture of the fishermen who worked in those waters. The track, a duo with my piano and Teco Cardoso on flutes is included on my album Veja o Som from 2010.
