"A Correnteza"

I am preparing new arrangements for 2 upcoming concerts with my Quinteto where we will pay tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim. You might know about the album Por Causa de Você that was released back in 2018 by Adventure Music and is available in high definition on my Bandcamp site. We are playing several of these arrangements, but I wanted to dive in deeper into the Jobim songbook for tunes that are not so well-known.

In 2006, I produced an album by singer Heather Davis that was recorded in Bahia, Brazil, featuring among other tracks a version of A Correnteza, a gorgeous toada by Jobim and Luiz Bonfá. I wrote the arrangement, and overdubbed the accordion, percussion and flutes. The album came out (under Heather Report - Bahia Vol. 1) with a different version of the mix, but I am sharing with you my own mix:
