I spent all of last week teaching and playing music at Jazz Camp West, a beautiful gathering of music and dance folks, held for 40 years in the beautiful sequoia forests of Northern California. I have been a faculty member at JCW since 2001, and for several years I have led an ensemble that meets every morning at 9AM for 5 days, and with them I compose a brand new piece of music each day. The music is learned by ear by all participants, and at the end of each period I write it down, sharing it later with everyone. This year I am sharing this brand new pieces with all my Substack subscribers. Here is the link to download the scores in PDF form.
I hope you will enjoy these pieces and let me know what you think.
Thanks for your ongoing support!
Cheers,
Jovino
This is such a beautiful offering that you do each year and I’ve enjoyed every time I’ve got to participate! I would still do it if they didn’t schedule me to teach at the same time, but I send all my friends your way! They enjoyed it thoroughly by the way :)
