Hello folks,
I got back from my trip to Brazil and am feeling super energized by the amazing musical performances that happened there. My trio show at the Blue Note in Rio was amazing. Joining forces with João Rafael Souza on bass and Marcio Bahia on drums, we were surprised when the great Carlos Malta showed up and jammed with us onstage. We had a full house and many friends and colleagues were in attendance. Here are some beautiful images of that night by Aloízio Jordão:
From Rio I went to Manaus, deep inn the heart of the Amazon, to rehearse and perform a concert at the beautiful Teatro Amazonas as part of the Amazon Green Jazz Festival. I played my compositions and arrangements for big band, and that was also an unforgettable experience, collaborating with the Amazonas Big Band conducted by Maestro Rui Carvalho . Here’s a very short clip of the world premiere of my new piece A Onça e o Pajé (The Jaguar and the Shaman):
My head was literally in the clouds after all this music. Here’s the proof:
Thanks for your support of my music. I do appreciate your comments, and of course your generous subscriptions to my Substack.
Obrigado!
